First Posted: 11/7/2013 WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Admitted killer Bobby Lee Komrowski has been shot down by a Luzerne County judge in his attempt to have a guilty plea in the 2007 stabbing death of his girlfriend overturned.
Komrowski pleaded guilty in 2009 to the killing of Amy Comly, 31, and was immediately sentenced to 20 to 40 years in state prison on third-degree murder charges.
According to court documents, Komrowski, 55, argued in a July hearing before Judge Joseph M. Augello that his guilty plea was invalid, citing ineffective counsel.
Yet, as prosecutors pointed out, Komrowski admitted that he did stab Comly &#8212; though quibbling about the number of stab wounds &#8212; and he admitted in court that the plea was voluntary and he was satisfied with the services of his attorneys.
In a ruling filed Thursday dismissing the appeal, Augello said it was &#8220;patently obvious&#8221; that Komrowski was now making contradictory statements.
