Police said six men have been arrested in another gang rape of a bus passenger in India, four weeks after a deadly attack on a student on a moving bus in the capital outraged Indians and led to calls for tougher rape laws. 
A 29-year-old woman was traveling on a bus to her village in northern Punjab state on Friday and was the only passenger. Police said the driver and conductor allegedly drove her to a desolate location and took her to a nearby building where they were joined by five friends and raped her repeatedly. 
Police said they arrested six suspects on Saturday and are searching for another. 
The brutal rape of a student on a New Delhi bus in December set off an impassioned debate about what India needs to do to prevent such tragedies.

<hl2 class=subhead style=subhead>Captors kill hostage in raid</hl2>
The French Defense Ministry said the captors of a French military agent killed him during a French commando raid in Somalia. The ministry says 17 Islamists and two French commandos also died in the fighting. 
Gen. Martin Klotz, a spokesman for the ministry, declined to provide details of the overnight operation aimed at rescuing fellow DGSE spy service agent Denis Allex &amp;#8212; the code-name for the agent who had been held hostage in Somalia since 2009. 
Allex was kidnapped from a hotel in Mogadishu on July 14, 2009 with a colleague who later escaped. They were in Somalia to train government forces, which are fighting Islamist militiamen.

<hl2 class=subhead style=subhead>Armed man shot in theater</hl2>
 Moviegoers at a San Diego theater ducked for cover as police stormed in during a movie and shot and wounded an armed domestic violence suspect pretending to be a patron. 
The lights came on suddenly during a Saturday matinee screening of Les Miserables at Reading Cinemas Carmel Mountain in northern San Diego and two officers who had been going theater-to-theater spotted their suspect among the approximately 15 moviegoers, most of whom quickly hit the floor and started inching toward exits, police and witnesses said. 
The suspect, Tom Billodeaux of Escondido, 20, at first obeyed the officer who approached him and put his empty hands up, but then lowered them into his lap ... raised a handgun, and turned it toward the officer, police said in a statement.

<hl2 class=subhead style=subhead>Adoption ban is protested</hl2>
In the largest show of public discontent since President Vladimir Putin's inauguration last May, thousands of demonstrators marched through downtown Moscow to protest a new law banning the adoption of Russian orphans by U.S. families.
The crowd, holding portraits of Putin and about 600 lawmakers who voted for the law, filled Moscow's Boulevard Ring, a procession that resembled old-time Communist May Day celebrations. At the end of the march, the portraits were dumped into a huge garbage bin.
The adoption law signed by Putin last month has split Russian society and re-galvanized the Russian protest movement, which fell dormant after Putin won election.
