First Posted: 4/13/2012 (AP) IndyCar champion Dario Franchitti is applauding his wife Ashley Judd for standing up to accusations she'd had plastic surgery.
Franchitti says he was angered by media speculation that the actress had altered her face, and gave her the phone number of an attorney he's used in Scotland. He says that conversation got Judd thinking about standing up to the hurtful reports.
Judd on Monday released an essay called "The Conversation" on The Daily Beast that decried the speculation about her appearance. She said her puffiness in her face was caused by steroids she was taking to treat a sinus infection.
Franchitti says Judd had the courage to speak out against the speculation, and he's been pleased with the response her piece has generated from other women tired of being objectified.
