Greater Wyoming Area and Northwest are now the only two teams competing in District 31 Senior Baseball championships, which start on Monday. The two teams will play a best-of-three series for the District 31 title.On Monday, June 29, GWA will host Northwest at 5:30 p.m. at Shoemaker Field, just off Shoemaker Avenue in Wyoming. The second game will be played at Northwest at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1. Northwest plays its games behind the high school just outside of Shickshinny.If a third game is needed, there will be a coin toss for home field. The game will played on either July 2 or 3 at the winner of the coin toss.Both District 16 and 31 tournaments were set to be double elimination.District 16 is still double elimination and will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, June 29 when Pittston Area Blue plays Hanover Area at Christian Field.
