First Posted: 11/20/2013 (AP) South Africa prosecutors have served Oscar Pistorius with new indictment papers containing two additional firearm charges believed to relate to the double-amputee Olympian allegedly shooting a gun in a public on two occasions one of them weeks before he killed girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
National Prosecuting Authority spokesman Nathi Mncube told The Associated Press the papers were served to Pistorius' lawyers Wednesday. The athlete will now face a main charge of murder and three other charges of contravening South Africa's firearm laws at his trial in March.
Pistorius had already been indicted in August on charges of murder for the Feb. 14 shooting of Steenkamp and illegal possession of ammunition.
