First Posted: 6/5/2013 <hardreturn>Some big news from the ranks of professional cycling broke earlier today and for once it didn't involve doping. <hardreturn>(Don't get me wrong there is still plenty of news floating around from the Lance Armstrong fallout. But let's put that aside for a momment.) <hardreturn>Stuart O'Grady announced in a press release from his team &#8212; Orica-GreenEdge &#8212; that 2014 will be his last. <hardreturn>&#8220;I have been getting asked more and more when I'm going to retire,&#8221; O'Grady said in the release. &#8220;I'm quite relived to have settled it. I'll race next year, and, if all goes to plan, my last race will be at the Tour de France.&#8221; <hardreturn>O'Grady has ridden in the last 16 Tours, being on the team of the yellow jersey winner three times. He has also finished 14 of the Tours. <hardreturn>If he makes the field for this year and next, he will break American George Hincapie's record of 17 starts in Tour de France. Shouldn't some of those starts have been vacated, though, since Hincapie admitted to participating the U.S. Postal drugging campaign during much of his career? <hardreturn>But back to O'Grady. <hardreturn>Stuey, how the 40-year-old Australian is know in the peleton, has been in the battle for the Tour's green jersey, which goes to the top sprinter in the race, a few times, but has never been able to walk away with the prize.
