FOSTER TWP. &#8212; State police at Hazleton reported two people were killed Saturday night in a one-car crash on North Lehigh Gorge Drive.The driver, Gerald Lynn Sweitzer, 57, of Weatherly and his passenger, Keith R. Frick, 38 of Pittston were pronounced dead at the scene by officials from the Luzerne County Coroner&#8217;s Office.State police reported: The crash occurred at approximately 7:25 p.m. three quarters of a mile north of Caplos Road. Sweitzer was driving a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria at a high rate of speed south on roadway and lost control of the car. It spun clockwise off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree with its left side. The car came to rest facing north in the roadway.The crash is under investigation, state police said.The White Haven Fire Department and EMS, Fearnots Fire Department, Valley Regional EMS, and APTS assisted state police.
