<p>In its seventh year, Kingston law firm Hourigan, Kluger &amp; Quinn&#8217;s Fund for Children&#8217;s Advocacy will provide free bicycle helmets to local children in its ongoing effort to promote child safety.</p><p>Also known as HKQ Kids, the organization was founded by Attorney Joe Quinn and has equipped more than 6,400 children with free bike helmets. The helmet program started in 2008 and has provided more than 6,400 children with free helmets.</p><p>Last year, HKQ Kids gave away more than 1,300 helmets and is planning to stock another 1,300 this year.</p><p>This year&#8217;s event, which will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., will be held Saturday at Kirby Park during the City of Wilkes-Barre&#8217;s 35th annual Fourth of July fireworks celebration.</p><p>&#8220;Our entire law firm looks forward to this event every year,&#8221; said HKQ spokeswoman and Attorney Michelle M. Quinn. &#8220;It&#8217;s great to meet so many wonderful families in our community and know that we are doing our part to keep their children safe.&#8221;</p><p>To receive a helmet, children are required to be 12 years old or younger and accompanied by an adult. All helmets distributed by HKQ Kids meet U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission standards.</p><p>HKQ Kids was established in October 2005 to promote child safety through community outreach and educational programs.
