WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A Brooklyn, New York man faces gun charges after police said they found a firearm next to him as he lay passed out on a couch in a friend&#8217;s Airy Street apartment Friday morning.Daquan Lloyd Jones, 24, was alone when the landlord entered the apartment to do a scheduled inspection around 9 a.m., police said. The landlord had knocked on the door and entered after no one answered, finding Jones unresponsive on a couch with a handgun within arm&#8217;s reach, police said.Police were called to the apartment and woke Jones who told them he got drunk at the Passion Lounge on Scott Street and went to his friend&#8217;s house afterward. Police did a records&#8217; check and learned Jones is a convicted felon with a lengthy criminal record. The handgun had an obliterated serial number, police said.Jones was arraigned by District Judge Joseph Halesey, Hanover Township on charges of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and possession of a firearm with an altered serial number. Jones was committed to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $250,000 bail.
