Austin Romine has been there before being on a midseason All-Star team, including being selected to two MLB Futures Games.The RailRiders catcher will participate in his fourth all-star game, but first since 2011 with Double-A Trenton when he takes the field in Omaha, Nebraska on Wednesday to represent the RailRiders and the International League in the Triple-A All-Star Game.He will be joined in Omaha by his teammate, Kyle Roller, who will be making his All-Star game debut.&#8220;It&#8217;s a big honor. There&#8217;s a lot of great players in this league and to be selected to go there is a big honor,&#8221; Roller said. &#8220;I&#8217;m excited to see what it&#8217;s all about, especially since this is my first one. Gonna meet a lot of guys you play against and I might build a relationship with them so I&#8217;m excited.&#8221;Roller, who has 12 home runs, just three off the I.L. lead, will not participate in the event&#8217;s home run derby and wasn&#8217;t approached to do so. But a former SWB Yankee Jesus Montero, now playing for Seattle&#8217;s Triple-A club in Tacoma with 15 homers, will participate. So will former New York prospect Peter O&#8217;Brien, who was traded to Arizona last season and is currently playing for Reno with 15 longballs.Judge&#8217;s JuryRailRiders outfielder Aaron Judge is the No. 2-ranked prospect in the Yankees organization according to MLB.com. He&#8217;s produced on every level he&#8217;s played and now will get judged by many others in the game when he plays in the Futures Game today at 3 p.m. at Cincinnati&#8217;s Great American Ball Park. The game will be televised live on MLB Network and MLB.com.Local RoundupHere&#8217;s a few recent highlights of just some of the locals playing professionally in the minor leagues.&#8226;Coughlin grad Ray Black is transitioning from reliever to a starter&#8217;s role for the High-A San Jose Giants. Since returning from an injury, Black has made three starts for San Jose and has continued to be dominant. He has made two starts in a row and is working up his pitch count so he hasn&#8217;t had a decision yet. His last outing came on July 8 and he threw 55 pitches in two innings. His previous start on July 2 was a career-high 2 2/3 innings pitched.On the season, the right-hander is 1-0 with a 1.86 ERA allowing two earned runs in 9 2/3 innings. He&#8217;s been dominant with the punch-outs fanning 19 in those frames as his velocity has topped out at 101 MPH.&#8226;After a tough start to the season, Tunkhannock grad Mike Papi is heating up lately. Playing in High-A with Lynchburg (Cleveland organization), Papi has been on a tear recently entering Saturday night on a 12-game hitting streak hitting .414 (17 for 41) in that period as his average for the season has risen more than 30 points in that span. On May 6, the outfielder was hitting just .136; he entered Friday night more than 100 points higher at .244.&#8226;Papi&#8217;s former teammate, Rich Condeelis hasn&#8217;t got off to the best start for the Gulf Coast League Twins. Drafted last month by Minnesota, the righty has pitched in four games and has given up five earned runs in 4 1/3 innings. The bright spot is that he&#8217;s struck out six in his time on the mound.&#8226;Yankees minor leaguer Matt Wotherspoon, a Crestwood grad, has been in a nice groove for Single-A Charleston. The right-handed starter has now been stretched out tossing 89 pitches in his last start on July 7 for the RiverDogs. In that outing, he threw five, one-hit innings with six strikeouts in a no-decision.
