Glodzik’s trials on bank fraud, firearm offense postponed

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; The sale Thursday of eBay Enterprise for $925 million to a group of private equity firms appears not to have affected the company&#8217;s commitment to maintain its presence downtown, an economic development official said.</p><p>The company operates its affiliate marketing segment that sells and promotes a company&#8217;s service or product for a commission in the Innovation Center @ Wilkes-Barre. Last month announced it signed a five-year lease for office space in the building owned by the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce.</p><p>Joseph Boylan, vice president of economic development with the Chamber, said the company&#8217;s expansion plans are moving forward.</p><p>The lease runs until 2020 and the company has made an investment of approximately $250,000 in its local operation. In addition, it&#8217;s already hired some of the 40 people it announced it would add over the next 18 months and increase the workforce to approximately 120, he said.</p><p>&#8220;We&#8217;re confident moving forward we have something great going on,&#8221; Boylan said Friday.</p><p>A phone call and email to eBay Enterprise&#8217;s King of Prussia headquarters was not returned.</p><p>In a blog post on the company&#8217;s web site Craig Hayman, president of eBay Enterprise, said the process of &#8220;exploring all avenues for our future&#8221; began in January.</p><p>&#8220;We believe this deal will give us the most opportunity to continue focusing on our areas of proven strength and help our clients win in an incredibly evolving market,&#8221; Hayman said.</p><p>Private equity firm Permira Funds joined Sterling Partners, Longview Asset Management, and Innotrac Corporation, in buying the company from parent eBay Inc. The selling price was less than the $2.4 billion eBay paid for the company formerly known as GSI Commerce in 2011. GSI purchased the online business Pepperjam from entrepreneurs Mike Jones and Kris Jones ( they are not related) in 2009. The eBay Enterprise deal preceded Friday&#8217;s sale of PayPal by parent company eBay.</p><style>
