Amish Cook: An Amish wedding and Gloria’s mother shares a recipe for strawberry trifle dessert

<p>Each year, the Hughestown Lions Club provides scholarships to local high school graduates who have excelled in the classroom to assist them in the advancement of their college studies and to help defer the growing costs of college. Students can apply for the scholarships through an application process available at Pittston Area High School. The club provided two scholarships this year. Claudia Shandra received the Dale Kridlo Scholarship award and Stephen Yuhas received the Jerry Chilipko Scholarship award. The club began the Dale Kridlo Scholarship to honor the memory of Hughestown resident Dale Kridlo, who was killed in the line of duty while serving in Afghanistan. The Jerry Chilipko Scholarship is named after a long-time member and past president of the Hughestown Lions Club. Students and their families were honored at a recent Lions club meeting.
