Consumer Watchdog: Free trials aren’t always free for unsuspecting consumer

WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A city man faces public drunkenness and possession of drug paraphernalia charges after he was arrested by police on May 20.John Pashinski, 30, of Charles Street, was arraigned Friday by District Judge Joseph Halesey, Hanover Township and released on $15,000 unsecured bail. Pashinski&#8217;s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 25 before District Judge Rick Cronauer, Wilkes-Barre.According to police: Officers on patrol on Orchard Street saw Pashinski stumbling in a parking lot as they approached Carey Avenue around 11:40 a.m. They stopped and saw that Pashinski had blood shot eyes, was highly lethargic and had difficulty maintaining his balance. He was taken into custody for public drunkenness and said he just got done smoking synthetic marijuana. He was searched and police found a metal smoking pipe with suspected residue of synthetic marijuana on it. He was taken to police headquarters where paperwork was filed and held until sober.
