DPT students complete certification

Sweet Valley Church of Christ hosting blood drive

<p>Holy Redeemer High School&#8217;s Speech and Debate team competed in the National Catholic Forensics League Grand National Tournament in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, sending its largest group of participants ever to the national tourney. Ten Holy Redeemer students participated in the tournament, joining more than 2,600 other students from throughout the country. Holy Redeemer&#8217;s participants first competed against some 25 schools in the Scranton Diocese regional tournament and needed to place in the top five to advance to the national tourney. Maria Khoudary qualified in dramatic performance, Briana Scorey competed in original oratory and Jerome Hannon and Maddison Black qualified in dramatic duo. The following students qualified in policy debate, Thalia Charles, Nial Vender, Nick Lutz, Scott Williams, Maria Strish and Isabel Panganiban. Kevin McDonald qualified in declamation. Maria Khoudary entered the elimination rounds in Ft. Lauderdale and finished among the top 48 students in the country.
