MOOSIC &#8212; When things are going good, everything always seems to work out.Right now for the RailRiders, things couldn&#8217;t be much better.Scranton/Wilkes-Barre got a strong start from a pitcher, who has struggled in Triple-A, and a key three-run homer from a struggling slugger on Tuesday night at PNC Field. It added up to a 5-2 victory over last-place Pawtucket for SWB&#8217;s seventh straight win over the rival PawSox in the season series.Kyle Haynes, a 24-year-old, earned his first Triple-A victory after two previous shaky starts with the RailRiders. On Tuesday night, the right-hander was at a peak performance.Haynes &#8212; who pitched 5 2/3 innings, the most he&#8217;s lasted in his three Triple-A starts &#8212; only allowed one run, but he hurt himself by getting in deep counts all night. Even though he only walked three, Haynes reached a full-count four more times.He ended the night with a season-high 96 pitches. His previous high was 95 with Trenton on July 8 in a start when he went six innings. He also ties a season-high with six strikeouts against Pawtucket, the worst team in the International League, now 29 games under the .500 mark for the season at 44-73.In his first two starts with the RailRiders, Haynes gave up 11 runs total in just 8 2/3 innings with an ERA of 11.42. By the time his outing was over, his ERA dropped nearly four runs to 7.53.The only run he allowed came in the top of the fifth when Quintin Berry hit a solo shot over the wall in left-center to tie the game at 1-1.&#8220;(Catcher) Gary (Sanchez) and I were able to work together and keep them off-balance,&#8221; Haynes said. &#8220;I threw my offspeed stuff for strikes for the most part and that helped my fastball play a lot better.&#8220;I got a little more confident as it got later in the game and I just had to attack hitters and get ahead.&#8221;Aaron Judge, who entered the night hitting just .114 (4 for 35) in his previous 10 games, broke out of his slump by slamming a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth. Judge&#8217;s line drive blast landed on the concourse bridge in left field for his fifth homer of the season in a RailRiders uniform and his Yankees farm system-leading 17th of the season to give the RailRiders a 5-1 lead.&#8220;Everyone has those ups and downs and I&#8217;m just trying to stay consistent, that&#8217;s the biggest thing,&#8221; Judge said. &#8220;Try to make sure that those downs aren&#8217;t too long. You try to tweak mechanics, stay focused and get back in the right frame of mind and drive more pitches.&#8221;The Red Sox brought the trying run to the plate in the top of the eighth when right-hander Nick Goody struggled walking two and allowing two hits with the only out he recorded being on a pick-off.But Andrew Bailey got out of the bases-loaded, one-out jam. After giving up a walk to force in a run and pull Pawtucket within 5-2, Bailey got the next two batters via strikeout.Bailey, a two-time American League All-Star with Oakland in 2009 and 2010 who is battling his way back from injuries, closed out the win with a perfect ninth.Monday night&#8217;s hero Ben Gamel, who won the game with the first-ever walk-off inside-the-park homer in franchise history, came through in the clutch again on Tuesday. His go-ahead RBI-double in the bottom of the fifth gave SWB a 2-1 lead.&#8220;Pitching for this lineup&#8217;s pretty cool,&#8221; Haynes said. &#8220;The guys are great out there. Guys one through nine can get the job done. Just to be out there and get them a win is nice.&#8221;After loading the bases with no outs in the bottom of the third, the RailRiders almost squandered the opportunity as three straight batters got retired.
