State officials checking use of email for cheating website

WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A Glen Lyon man is facing charges after police say he stole over $200 from a Turkey Hill.Jason Demski, 32, of Glen Lyon faces two charges of robbery after he allegedly robbed the Turkey Hill on East Main Street on Tuesday.Officers were dispatched to the store shortly before 11:30 p.m. for a report of the robbery. According to court records, police spoke with the assistant manager and a clerk of the store. One of the employees told police that she was counting out her register when Demski, who was wearing either a bandanna or a shirt covering the lower half of his face, entered the store.Police say Demski entered the store with a &#8220;thin object&#8221; in his hands, and approached the counter and told the staff &#8220;let&#8217;s go, give me the money in three seconds or I will stab you with this.&#8221;The employees then reportedly backed away from the register, and police say Demski then took $112, and then allegedly demanded money from the clerk&#8217;s drawer.In total, Demski allegedly left the store with $218.Officers at the scene reviewed the store&#8217;s surveillance video and notified other officers with additional details about Demski&#8217;s appearance.An officer found a man on George Avenue who went into the Turkey Hill at North Washington and George Avenue for a pack of cigarettes that matched the description a short while later. Police took him into custody as he exited the store, and found him to be in possession of the $218 reported missing by the Turkey Hill employees.Demski was arraigned on the charges by Magisterial District Judge Ronald Swank on Wednesday.
