<p>Brittany E. Prater and Douglas A. Zaruta, M.D. were united in marriage on Saturday, May 30 2015, at the Prince of Peace Episcopal Church, Dallas, where the bride&#8217;s grandfather was minister for thirty five years. The bride&#8217;s parents were also married at the same church twenty nine years ago. The Reverend Marty Garms and Father Joseph Rafferty officiated the ceremony.</p><p>The bride is the daughter of Dr. John M. and Susan Prater, Dallas. She is the granddaughter of Frank and Jean Catina, Forty Fort; Ingrid Prater, Dallas, and the late Reverend John S. Prater.</p><p>The groom is the son of Mr. Robert and Deborah Zaruta, Shavertown. He is the grandson of Teresa Zaruta, Wilkes-Barre; the late George Zaruta and the late Owen and Beulah Williams, Wilkes-Barre.</p><p>The bride, given in marriage by her parents, chose her sister, Emily Prater and Ally Kovalchik, friend of the bride, as maids of honor. The Bridesmaids were Megan Kennedy Dutko, Jessie Punia, Leslie Babcock, Kristen Freeman, all friends of the bride, and Kristi Juskiewicz Clarke, cousin of the bride. The flower girls were Julia and Allison Desciak, cousins of the bride.</p><p>The groom chose his brothers, Jeffrey Zaruta and Robert Zaruta, as his best men. The Groomsmen were John F. Prater, brother of the bride, Jonathan Andino, Ryan Mark, John McGeehan and Igor Mahklin, M.D., all friends of the groom. Micaiah, Caleb and Aaron Hughes, cousins of the bride, were the ring bearers. Micaiah carried the rings in the glass slipper that the groom used for the proposal in Disneyland, California.</p><p>Readings were given by Jonathan Kurss, M.D., friend of the groom, and Caitie Kitty Kerns, friend of the bride.</p><p>The bride was honored at a bridal shower held at Irem Temple County Club, Dallas. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom at Irem Temple Country Club. An evening cocktail hour and reception, hosted by the parents of the bride, were held at the Scranton Cultural Center, Scranton.</p><p>The bride is a 2006 graduate of Dallas Senior High School and in 2009 earned her Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in sport management from California University of Pennsylvania. She is employed by Nazareth College as the athletics office coordinator, Rochester, NY.</p><p>The groom is a 2004 graduate of Dallas Senior High School. He earned a Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in athletic training in 2008 from The University of Pittsburgh, and a Master of Science Degree in sports medicine, also from The University of Pittsburgh, in 2010. He earned his medical doctor degree from The Commonwealth Medical College in 2015. The groom is employed by the University of Rochester where he is completing his orthopaedic surgery residency.</p><p>Following a honeymoon trip to Bermuda, the couple&#8217;s &#8220;happily ever after&#8221; begins in Rochester, NY.</p><style>
