<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A man sentenced on meth and theft charges can spend close to three years in prison.</p><p>James M. Piacente, 37, of Shickshinny, was ordered Tuesday in Luzerne County Court to serve 15 to 30 months in state prison for manufacturing methamphetamine, operating a meth lab and theft from a motor vehicle, according to court papers.</p><p>Judge Michael T. Vough gave the man credit for 89 days served. Court documents indicate Piacente must make $1,255 restitution to the theft victims.</p><p>According to a criminal complaint, Piacente in July 2013 was involved in the theft of a video game console and a pineapple from a Fairmount Township home, as well as the theft of prescription medications and a checkbook from a vehicle parked outside.</p><p>After the residents reported the robbery, police stopped Piacente and another man in a yellow Volkswagen Beetle with a pineapple mounted on the roof antenna, the complaint says.</p><p>Police later acquired a search warrant for the vehicle, and in their search of the car discovered the stolen items as well as the materials involved in the &#8220;one pot&#8221; method of cooking methamphetamine.</p><div class="metaInfo"><bylineMeta><p>By James O&#8217;Malley</p><p>jomalley@www.timesleader.com</p></bylineMeta></div><div class="metaInfo"><shirttailMeta><p>Reach James O&#8217;Malley at 570-991-6390 or on Twitter @TL_omalley.</p></shirttailMeta></div>
