Teens accused in thefts, vandalism at Kingston pool

WILKES-BARRE &#8212; The theft of $16,000 worth of cigarettes will extend a man&#8217;s state prison stay by up to four years.James Dietrick, 50, last known to reside in Philadelphia, was sentenced Monday in Luzerne County Court to two to four years behind bars followed by five years probation on a burglary charge, according to court papers.He pleaded guilty to the charge in June.Judge Tina Polachek Gartley ordered the man to serve the term consecutive to a three to six-year burglary sentence he is serving out of Monroe County, court papers say.According to a criminal complaint, Dietrick on Dec. 9, 2009, broke a hole in the front of the Exxon Gas Station on Bear Creek Boulevard and stole approximately 292 cartons of cigarettes.DNA evidence recovered from blood found at the scene later tied Dietrick to the incident.Dietrick must make $16,379 restitution.<div class="metaInfo"><bylineMeta>By James O&#8217;Malleyjomalley@www.timesleader.com</bylineMeta></div><div class="metaInfo"><shirttailMeta>Reach James O&#8217;Malley at 570-991-6390 or on Twitter @TL_omalley.</shirttailMeta></div>
