<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A 10-year-old boy was injured during a pursuit that ended with a crash and arrest of the driver on Thursday, city police said Friday.</p><p>Police said the boy was treated at a local hospital for an injured foot when he was ran over by a vehicle allegedly driven by Michael A. Howey, 24, of Wilkes-Barre.</p><p>Police said they stopped Howey on Wilkes-Barre Boulevard near East Northampton Street when an officer noticed an inoperable brake light on his vehicle near Hazle Avenue just after 6 p.m.</p><p>As an officer walked up to Howey&#8217;s vehicle, Howey drove away traveling north on Wilkes-Barre Boulevard at a high rate of speed.</p><p>Police allege Howey turned onto Scott Street where he ran over the boy&#8217;s foot near Laurel Street.</p><p>Howey allegedly failed to obey stop signs on Scott Street and crashed into a wall at 500 Scott St., which houses InterMountain Medical Group and Commonwealth Health Laboratory Services.</p><p>Police removed Howey and a passenger, James Crawford, 36, of Wilkes-Barre, from the vehicle that was smoking.</p><p>Police allege a bag of suspected crack cocaine was on the front passenger seat and a cup style ash tray in the driver door compartment.</p><p>Howey allegedly told police he drove away from the traffic stop because he did not have a driver&#8217;s license. Crawford claimed he kept telling Howey to &#8220;just pull over,&#8221; police said.</p><p>Howey and Crawford denied knowing anything about the suspected crack cocaine inside the vehicle.</p><p>Police said Howey and Crawford were treated at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township.</p><p>Howey was arraigned Friday on charges of aggravated assault by vehicle, fleeing or attempting to elude police, flight to avoid apprehension, reckless driving, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and two counts each of reckless endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia and accidents involving personal injury. He was arraigned by District Judge Ronald Swank in Wright Township and jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $50,000 bail.</p><p>A review of court records did not result any charges filed against Crawford.</p><style>
