<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A Luzerne County Domestic Relations employee who is facing drunken-driving charges has waived his preliminary hearing, sending the case from a magistrate&#8217;s court up to the county bench.</p><p>Eugene Duffy allegedly had a blood alcohol level more than three times above the legal limit after he crashed a vehicle at North River and Chestnut streets on July 7, city police said.</p><p>Records show Duffy, 53, of West Hazleton, was suspended with pay from his $64,260-per-year support officer job after his arrest.</p><p>A blood test allegedly showed he had a blood alcohol level of .269 percent, police said. Under state law, an adult driver is considered intoxicated with a blood alcohol level of .08 percent.</p><p>Duffy, off duty at the time of the incident, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence.
