Swoyersville boy with love of Legos goes to Legoland

<p>KINGSTON TWP. &#8212; The Lands at Hillside Farms is going back to its roots for a 10th anniversary Farm-To-Table Dinner next week.</p><p>The annual dinner scheduled for Saturday will celebrate the farm&#8217;s 10th anniversary as a non-profit educational farm, said Suzanne Kapral Kelly, development director at The Lands at Hillside Farms.</p><p>Years ago, farm-to-table events were held in the fields where the food was harvested, said Chet Mozloom, executive director at The Lands at Hillside Farms.</p><p>&#8220;We are returning to our roots,&#8221; he said.</p><p>Mozloom said guests will dine at tables in Hillside pastures behind the Phyllis Mundy Educational Center.</p><p>The menu will consist of fresh corn on the cob, quinoa grain, meaty baked beans, pulled pork from the farm&#8217;s pigs and free-range chickens from Badger&#8217;s Millside Farms in Hughesville.</p><p>&#8220;The event will focus on sustainably-grown food,&#8221; Mozloom said. &#8220;The Hillside ice cream truck will also be there.&#8221;</p><p>The event, which is sold out, will feature bonfires, tractor rides, a silent auction, the Suzuki School of Strings and Kiss Theater performers.</p><p>&#8220;We are really excited about the entertainment,&#8221; Kapral Kelly said. &#8220;The Suzuki School of Strings is comprised of 5-year-old violinists and cellists up to adults.&#8221;</p><p>They will play a special selection for the dairy herd, she said. The dairy herd will be the stars of the event, Mozloom said.</p><p>&#8220;They will be grazing in a nearby field,&#8221; he said.</p><p>All proceeds will benefit The Lands at Hillside Farms Green Guides program, a nature-based educational and therapeutic program for autistic and at-risk children in Northeastern Pennsylvania.</p><p>Last year, the event was held in the 19th-century cottage for about 150 guests, Mozloom said. This year, 120 guests have purchased tickets so far, he said.</p><p>Luzerne Bank, First Keystone Community Bank, All Mechanical and Community Bank, N.A are local business sponsors of the event.</p><style>
