Public input sought on transportation

First Posted: 7/18/2014 Downtown Scranton will be the site of Lackawanna County&#8217;s annual 3 on 3 tournament Aug. 1 -3.
The games will be played on the 100-200 blocks on Wyoming Avenue. Males and females will play Friday and Saturday. Sunday has been reserved as the rain date.
The action begins on Friday at 5 p.m. Games on Saturday will run from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. Sunday&#8217;s action, if necessary, will start at 9 a.m. and run through completion.
The tournament will be part of the &#8220;First Friday&#8221; related events.
&#8220;Molly Pitcher Path&#8221; is the musical entertainment for the evening, starting at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Wyoming Avenue.
Players of all skill levels and ages are invited to participate. The registration deadline is Friday, July 25. The entry fees per team are: $90 for youth, $110 for adults, and $90 for the senior division (ages 45+), based on a five-man roster. T-shirts will be given to all participating players, and all teams are guaranteed a three-game minimum. Checks or money orders should be made payable to &#8220;LCCVB&#8221; &#8211; the Lackawanna County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
A portion of the tournament&#8217;s proceeds will benefit local high school basketball programs and Coaches vs. Cancer.
The Lackawanna/Susquehanna Office of Drug & Alcohol Programs will be on site providing a variety of information and resources. Its message for the weekend will involve discussing the debilitating effects and perils of drugs and alcohol abuse.
Guests who visit the Drug & Alcohol tent will be able to enter a slogan contest and receive a headband for filling-out a brief survey. Team photos will also be taken.
