Blind Association golf tournament set for June 16

First Posted: 11/26/2014 Excited children scrambled for candy being thrown from parade participants as they watched the action during the Sunday&#8217;s Christmas parade in Wyoming and Forty Fort.
The parade began at First Street in Wyoming and ended at Forty Fort Park. The event was sponsored by Wyoming Borough&#8217;s recreation board.
Emergency response vehicles from areas including Wyoming, West Wyoming, Exeter, Kingston, Trucksville and West Pittston traveled the parade&#8217;s route complete with sirens and flashing lights. Floats included Ayers Towing, Elf on a Shelf, the Boy Scouts of America, the Jeanne Zano Band, WILK, and Santa&#8217;s Workshop, featuring the attraction of the day - Santa himself.
Susan Socash, of Butler Street, Wyoming said that she always enjoys the annual event. In getting ready for the holidays, Socash said she will begin preparing for the holidays the Friday after Thanksgiving by putting up her Christmas tree and house lights, and decorations.
&#8220;We visit family locally&#8221; during the holidays, Socash said.
Carrie Jackson stated that she was &#8220;very disappointed&#8221; with this year&#8217;s event. Jackson said that it was a dangerous situation because the children were running to get their candy while cars were still on the road.
&#8220;Only half of Wyoming was closed,&#8221; Jackson said. 
Dave Coulter of West Wyoming attended the parade with daughter Addyson, age 3. Coulter said this was their first year attending the parade. 
Janelle Lee of Swoyersville decided at the last minute to attend the parade. She was in attendance with friend, Coulter. This was the first time that Lee attended the parade.
&#8220;Normally we go to the one in Wilkes-Barre, but we missed it this year,&#8221; she said.
Lee said she enjoyed the parade, but wished that it could have been longer. Lee&#8217;s sons Evan, age 6, and Brayden, 21 months, enjoyed the sounds of the emergency response vehicles, while their brother Avery has a dislike of noise.
