The Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Rd., Clarks Summit, is open for the adoption of pets from noon to 4:30 p.m., daily. Wish list items are always appreciated, especially cat litter, canned dog food and paper towels.

Duryea to collect electronics March 20

<b>First Posted:</b> 1/15/2013<br><br>Greater Pittston Tomorrow and Leadership Wilkes-Barre are sponsoring a Strive to Revive event from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at Brews Brothers in Pittston. The purpose of the event is to raise money for the refurbishment of the Montgomery Avenue Park in West Pittston and the after school program room at the Pittston YMCA as well as to assist the City of Pittston purchase a band shell for use by organizations in the Greater Pittston Community. Tickets are available at the Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce, 104 Kennedy Blvd. Pittston. or by calling 655-1424.
