First Posted: 11/4/2013 Active Adult Centers sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging for Luzerne and Wyoming Counties offer hot noon meals Monday through Friday to people 60 years of age or older. Donations from participants are gratefully accepted and needed in order to expand this program.
The following is the menu for the week of Nov. 4:
MONDAY: Open-face hot turkey (whole wheat bread), gravy, vegetable medley, chicken noodle soup, crackers, cole slaw, fresh fruit, margarine, milk and coffee.
TUESDAY: Beef stroganoff, Craisin spinach salad, buttered noodles, whole wheat bread, bananas in gelatin, margarine, milk and coffee.
WEDNESDAY: BBQ pork chop, chuckwagon corn, mashed potatoes, whole wheat dinner roll, orange, sugar cookie, margarine, milk and coffee.
THURSDAY: Veterans&#8217; Day special dinner - Beef stew, steamed peas and carrots, mashed potatoes, onion dinner roll, blueberry pie, margarine, milk and coffee.
FRIDAY: Glazed yurkey, peas and carrots, baked acorn squash, whole wheat dinner roll, pumpkin spice cake, margarine, milk and coffee.
