WILKES-BARRE &#8212; GAR ran all over Carbondale for a convincing 56-6 victory at Wilkes-Barre Memorial Stadium on Friday night.With the win, GAR improves to 2-1 on the young season and are on a two-game winning streak with back-to-back 50-point victories against Holy Cross and Carbondale.Senior tailback Anthony Maurent led the charge once again and finished with 122 yards on just five carries for three touchdowns, all in the first quarter.Maurent got the scoring party started early. On his team&#8217;s first offensive snap just two minutes into the ball game, he took a short screen pass from quarterback Garry Kroll and ran for a 60-yard touchdown.Maurent added a 44-yard touchdown run with just 3:51 left in the first quarter to give GAR an early 14-0 lead.His final touchdown run came with just five seconds to go before the end of the first quarter buzzer on a third-and-two from his team&#8217;s 27 which resulted in a 73-yard touchdown and 21-0 first-quarter lead.Kroll was 8 for 11 for 167 yards and two scoring strikes from the air. After his opening touchdown pass to Maurent, Kroll added another score when he completed a 10-yard scoring strike to tight end Anthony Hoopingarner with 8:56 left in the third quarter for a 42-0 lead.Even backup quarterback Gerson Peralta joined in on the fun, as his lone pass of the night in the fourth quarter was an 8-yard touchdown from Nate Luckey.The Grenadiers completed 9 of 12 passes for 175 yards to five different receivers for three scores.
