GET YOUR GAME ON: 'Deadly Premonition' is the best worst game

First Posted: 10/28/2013 Beards, goatees, mustaches, soul patches, muttonchops, chin curtains, and chinstraps, men&#8217;s facial hair is hot right now. The moustache made a hella comeback and is featured on accessories like scarves, key chains, baby pacifiers, wallets, t-shirts &#8211; you name it and you can put a &#8216;stache on it and it&#8217;s cool.
I remember when my friend Marco/Mike owned a barbershop and his signature business card was a &#8216;stache that you could hold up to your face for endless entertainment. He was synonymous with the mustache, but now even third graders are rocking sunglasses with an attached plastic &#8216;stache! Most of us girls over 30 are trying to hide ours, but pop culture loves a great moustache.
What used to be called the dork is now the sexy. Think about the creepy guy with that moustache and those big glasses. Yeah, now he&#8217;s modeling the newest flannel at H&M.
Now, let&#8217;s discuss the full beard. The beard we all used to make fun of when we looked at our dad&#8217;s pics from the &#8216;70s. Even Seth Green is growing out a beard for his new comedy, &#8220;Dads.&#8221; &#8220;Beep beep, Richie!&#8221; With the &#8216;90s plaid and the 13&#8217;s beard, it seems like the alpha male role model is Paul Bunyan.
I remember when my husband, who usually sports the five o&#8217;clock shadow at all hours of the day, grew a beard. He just refused to shave. He had a full beard and &#8216;stache for an entire winter. I refer to it as &#8220;the dark ages.&#8221; When he finally shaved it, we had a good time stopping at all of the signature styles like the pencil mustache and the Abe Lincoln chinstrap. When I lived in L.A., my friend Matt grew a ridiculous beard, way before it was cool; he was years ahead of his time. He sent out an invite and gathered all of his friends for a facial hair removing party. Each of us took turns with the scissors and took off a piece of his masterpiece. It was the weirdest party I&#8217;ve ever been to, but I look back on it fondly.
Even Hollywood is calling, asking pretty boy Ryan Reynolds to put his beard back on. I did enjoy his furry face in &#8220;The Amityville Horror&#8221; (2005). And has anyone noticed both teams in the World Series? They look like cast members in that TV show &#8220;Gold Rush!&#8221; Personally, I think they should have gone with the Kenny Powers goatee.
But maybe this is a good thing. Maybe this is the extreme side of the return of the prepubescent boy bands and solo artists. I know I&#8217;ll take a burly Dave Grohl over a slippery Bieber any day.
