The budget was read and approved by council and an appreciative audience. Copies are in the borough building.
The new stand in Robert Yaple Park continues to progress. The older stand will be removed. PPL has been contacted for power for the building. The old stand has served the park for many years. 
Remembering those who helped with this project some of which have left us: Mark, Carl Sarti and Ryan Hopkins, Councilman Wayne Quick, Eddie Strubeck, Marie Griglock, Carmen Ambrosino, Chief Steve Golya, masterminds of the stand project and a handful of volunteers helping out. 
Matt Fino thanked borough for their co-operation with the soccer field usage.
Carmen Ambrosino spearheaded the park project making the park a dream come true. Funds realized came from Senator Musto, Rep. Michael Carroll, and residents and friends.

The problem on Cemetery Street was discussed at the council meeting. A Kappa Graphic representative was in attendance to discuss the problem. Mayor and council members will tour the area hoping to come up with a solution.
The police contract has been approved.
Property on Hughes Street has been sold along with property from Blessed Sacrament Church.
Bids for garbage collection will be given by Pittston City and Mascaro collection.
Hughestown residents in need qualify for food at Seton Catholic, council reported.
Telephone books may be dropped of at Pittston Tomato Festival parking lot free of charge.
