Bill Jones: With your help, United Way tries to write storybook endings for struggling people

The Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack was a seminal event for our world. At the time people said, &#8220;It will change everything.&#8221;Our worldview has been changed, as well as our priorities as a people and a nation. We have become afraid, perhaps unlike any time in our lifetimes. Two wars were started, and policies regarding civil rights, pre-emptive war, drone warfare and arbitrary detention are awful legacies. However, serious questions remain about what exactly happened that day.About 2,300 architects and engineers have signed a petition calling for a new investigation into the destruction of the World Trade Center buildings. The engineers claim that, according to hard science, the buildings could not have collapsed as they did for the reasons given. They contend that the planes and fires could not have caused what happened that day, and that it appears controlled demolition was the cause of the buildings&#8217; collapse.Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth will hold a public presentation &#8211; given by the founder of the organization, Richard Gage &#8211; at 2 p.m. today at The Four Points by Sheraton in Scranton. Gage is a true American hero.I hope the media will cover the event, and that people will ask the right questions about what happened on 9/11 and have the courage to consider implications.Kurt ShotkoMoscow
