Mr. Oliveri who is currently completing his fourth year as a member of the Board of Education is proud of the many accomplishments he has been a part of and has been unwavering in his belief to keep the best interests of the students and taxpayers as his top priority. Joseph was the President of the Pittston Area Board of Education during the 2007-2008 school years. 
In addition to serving on the Pittston Area Board of Education, Joseph has been a member of the Wilkes-Barre Career and Technology Center joint operating committee and was recently named Chairperson of the Practical Nursing School. 
Joseph is the son of the late Stanley and Isabelle (Mastorio) Oliveri. Joseph has been married for the past twenty-eight years to Carmelina Parente Oliveri. Together they are the proud parents of four children: Joe, Tiny, Melissa and Amy, all graduates of the Pittston Area School District. They are also grandparents to one grandchild, Nicholas. 
Joseph is employed as a Deputy Sheriff of Luzerne County since 1994.
 Joseph has recently been reappointed as a notary with his commission expiring in February 2013. 
Joseph is associated with many local clubs and organizations. Joseph is a member of the Knights of Columbus, John F. Kennedy Council #372 (*3rd degree), the Lithuanian Club in Inkerman since 1988, West Side Social Club, Avoca, the Polish Club in Dupont and the American Legion in Pittston. 
Mr. Oliveri and the rest of the Patriot Progress Team want to work together as members of the Pittston Area Board of Education to guarantee that our students are given the best education possible while acting with a sense of fiscal responsibility for the taxpayers that support the Pittston Area District.
