Classic guitarists put an end to musical misconceptions

<b>First Posted:</b> 4/5/2009<br><br>Old Forge started off slow in the field and at the plate as it dropped its Lackawanna League Division II opener, 5-1, to Valley View in Archbald on Thursday.
The Blue Devils managed just four hits and committed five errors during the contest as the Cougars scored three unearned runs off of those miscues.
Valley View struck early in the first inning with two unearned runs off hard-luck loser Brandon Carling. Carling pitched three innings for the Blue Devils in picking up the loss. The senior lefty fanned five and scattered six singles while giving up two unearned runs.
Old Forge (0-1 division, 2-3-1 overall) cut the deficit to 4-1 in the top of the fourth when Corey Hodick singled in Brian Morris who had singled earlier in the inning.
The Cougars got that run back in the bottom of the inning off of reliever Ryan Janesko. Janesko allowed just one hit and one run in three innings of relief. The junior also walked one and struck out one.
Anthony Pero and Carling each added singles for the Blue Devils, and Bobby Vieira and Matt Mischello drew two walks each.
Old Forge will host Dunmore on Monday at 4:30 p.m. at Pagnotti Park to begin the week before traveling to Throop on Tuesday to take on Mid Valley.
