Looking for some consistency on his football schedule, Wilkes coach Trey Brown will have to wait another week.The Colonels are playing yet another game on Friday night this week when they travel to New Jersey to face FDU-Florham. It will mark the fourth game of the season for Wilkes and the third its played on a Friday night, a week after playing on Saturday afternoon.Once tonight&#8217;s game is played, the team will only have Saturday afternoon games remaining on the schedule with four at 1 p.m. and two at noon.&#8220;We&#8217;ll have Saturday off, get back to work on Sunday and then have a normal schedule finally,&#8221; Brown said. &#8220;I&#8217;ve really enjoyed it. &#8230;I think we&#8217;ve worked through that (the inconsistent schedule) pretty well and I&#8217;m excited to get back to just kinda a normal schedule.&#8221;Wilkes faces a much-improved Devils team that finished 0-10 last season. FDU already has a win this season, and almost upset King&#8217;s last week at McCarthy Stadium taking the Monarchs to overtime.FDU might be without starting quarterback Tyler Maurer, who was carried off the field last week at King&#8217;s. Even without Maurer, the Devils came close to topping King&#8217;s using a drive more than 8 minutes long to take the lead before the Monarchs rallied to tie then win in overtime.While they may be riding a 20-game losing streak in the MAC, Brown told his team not to expect an easy game.&#8220;The important part is preparing for your opponent whether they&#8217;re a 10-0 team or an 0-10 team in the same manner and try to drive that home a little bit,&#8221; he said.The Wilkes offense ran 92 plays in last week&#8217;s loss to Lycoming and quarterback Ryan Dailey piled up career highs in passing yards (357) and touchdowns with three. But the team started to run out of a ammunition at the end. Despite being third in the league in first downs, leading the MAC with close to 85 plays per game and the most passing yards in the conference, the Colonels are averaging just 14.3 points per game, ninth in the 10-team MAC.&#8220;We gotta get some things going.
