<b>First Posted:</b> 12/21/2008<br><br>John S. Krypel, 88, of Old Forge, died December 12, 2008 under the care of the Gino Merli Veteran Center in Scranton. 
Born in Old Forge, he was a son of the late Frank Krypel Jr. and Angela Jaditz Krypel. An Army Veteran of World War II, he was in battle in both theaters, the Pacific and the Atlantic. 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Rook Krypel, in 1985; four brothers; Michael, Joseph, Frank and Walter Krypel. 
Surviving is his son, David Krypel, retired psychologist, currently residing in Scranton. 
Graveside services at Holy Cross Cemetery in Old Forge will be held at a date to be announced. Arrangements entrusted to the Kearney Funeral Home, Old Forge.
