KINGSTON TWP. - A man who authorities alleged impersonated a priest while charging groceries to a church was arrested Wednesday after an investigation revealed a plan to extort money from a Back Mountain priest, police said in arrest records. 

Kingston Township police and state police said Brian Joseph Rush, 28, used the alias &amp;quot;Ryan Anderson&amp;quot; to send e-mails to the Rev. Thomas J. Paisley, pastor at St. Theresa's Church, Trucksville, in late May and early June. 
Rush told Paisley that he wanted $10,000 or he was going to expose Paisley's &amp;quot;secrets,&amp;quot; arrest records say. 
Police suspect Rush used Paisley's laptop computer that was stolen during a burglary at the church's rectory on March 22 to send the e-mails. 
Police traced the e-mails to an apartment on Spruce Street, Archbald, which was searched on June 5. 
Rush was charged with nine counts of criminal use of communication facility, and one count each of theft by extortion, receiving stolen property, criminal attempt and criminal conspiracy. He was arraigned by District Judge James Tupper late Wednesday morning and jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $10,000 bail. 
Police said the tenant at the Archbald apartment, Seana Lee Warman, 26, is facing charges of criminal conspiracy and receiving stolen property. 
Warman told police, according to arrest records, she knew Rush was extorting Paisley, and would have spent the money if Paisley had paid. 
Rush is facing charges in Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas in connection to buying more than $1,800 in groceries, cigarettes and gift cards at Gerrity's Supermarket, West Pittston, in November and December, and charging the items to St. Rocco's Church in Pittston, according to arrest and court records. 
West Pittston police said Rush was dressed as a priest when he purchased the groceries.
