Hazleton City Council to ask court to appoint someone to vacant seat

<p>KINGSTON &#8212; Deputy Fire Chief Jim Wills said it was too early to tell what caused a fire inside of a carriage house at 172 S. Maple Ave. on Wednesday.</p><p>Kingston and Edwardsville departments had the fire under control about 45 minutes after it was reported around 3:30 p.m.</p><p>Homeowner Randy Lantz said he has &#8220;not a clue&#8221; what might have caused the carriage house to burn and that there wasn&#8217;t much more inside except his tools and his 1970 Plymouth Duster.</p><p>Lantz said no one was inside and that no one was injured as a result of the blaze.</p><p>Liz Janoski, Lantz&#8217;s neighbor, was home when the fire started. She said she smelled smoke and thought someone was burning garbage until she looked outside and saw smoke billowing from the windows of the carriage house.</p><p>&#8220;Really fast, it started coming out, and the windows were popping so I called 911 and I let the neighbors know,&#8221; said Janoski. &#8220;When it started really going it was black. The whole neighborhood was filled with black smoke.&#8221;</p><p>Janoski also said that no one was hurt.</p><style>
