<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A prison guard won&#8217;t serve any prison time for his involvement with a steroid ring, a Luzerne County judge ruled Tuesday.</p><p>Nicholas Baloga, 45, of Scranton, instead was sentenced to spend three years in the county&#8217;s Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP), according to court papers. He is to spend the first five months on house arrest with electronic monitoring followed by county supervision.</p><p>Judge Joseph F. Sklarosky ordered the man to make $932 restitution and pay a $300 fine, court records inidcate.</p><p>Baloga pleaded guilty in August to charges of possession with intent to deliver anabolic steroids and criminal use of a communications facility.</p><p>Employed as a Lackawanna County prison guard at the time of his arrest, Baloga allegedly showed up to drug transactions wearing a prison guard&#8217;s identification.</p><p>Baloga no longer is employed by the county, according to Deputy Director for Human Resources Brian Loughney.</p><p>Baloga was one of 13 people arrested in a multi-county investigation of two drug and steroid rings spearheaded by the state Office of Attorney General known as &#8220;Operation Gym Candy.&#8221;</p><style>
