<p>FORTY FORT &#8212; Borough council members voted unanimously Monday to name Bonnie Arnone as the new borough manager.</p><p>Arnone previously served part-time as the borough secretary. Borough council president Jeff McLaughlin said Arnone initially expressed an interest to remain a part-time employee for the borough.</p><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s kind of a great surprise that she did express interest in the position of borough manager,&#8221; McLaughlin said.</p><p>McLaughlin said Arnone&#8217;s salary will be $40,000 per year.</p><p>Barbara Fairchild was the last full-time borough manager for Forty Fort, but resigned. Plymouth Borough Council members voted 6-1 on Sept. 8 to hire Fairchild as a part-time borough manager.</p><p>As Forty Fort Borough Council members searched for a new borough manager, Arnone said she had a change of heart while fulfilling some of the manager responsibilities in the interim.</p><p>&#8220;I was doing the bulk of the work during the process of them putting out the application and seeking someone,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I realized I was enjoying it.&#8221;</p><p>McLaughlin explained officials advertised the position and had six applicants, but the council members did not get to the process of interviewing them.</p><p>McLaughlin said the borough is &#8220;very fortunate&#8221; to have Arnone as the new manager. He said she has at least 20 years experience in borough affairs, along with exceptional organization and people skills.</p><p>&#8220;Bonnie has always been there to step up and fill the shoes and help out when we need her,&#8221; McLaughlin said.</p><p>Arnone said she is &#8220;very grateful&#8221; for the position, and said her short-term goals are to help process grants to get work done within the borough.</p><style>
