<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A Berwick man will spend at least a year and a half behind bars for cooking meth in a building where children were living.</p><p>Adam Thomas Longenberger, 28, was sentenced Wednesday in Luzerne County Court to 18 to 36 months in state prison on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine with a child present and causing a catastrophe, according to court papers.</p><p>Court records indicate Longenberger pleaded guilty to the charges in August.</p><p>Judge Michael T. Vough credited Longenberger for 343 days served and ordered him to pay $1,760 to state police, court documents say.</p><p>Longenberger was one of two people arrested and charged in connection with a meth-lab explosion in a Nanticoke apartment located at 112 Lee Mine Street. According to police, the explosion happened when nobody was in the apartment, but two children had to be evacuated from the building.</p><p>According to court papers, emergency crews dispatched to an explosion at 112 Lee Mine Street found a door blown off its hinges and were greeted by an odor similar to that of kerosene.</p><p>Police entered and found materials consistent with a methamphetamine lab and evidence of an explosion.</p><p>According to court papers, an ongoing investigation into meth manufacturing and distribution in Luzerne County identified Jessica Collett and Longenberger as residents at the Lee Mine Street apartment house.</p><p>Collett, 29, of Berwick, also pleaded guilty in August to one count of manufacturing meth with a child present, according to court papers. Court records indicate she was scheduled to be sentenced Thursday, however details of her sentence were unknown Friday.</p><style>
