NEPA grandparents raising grandchildren find allies at forum in Wilkes-Barre

<p>TUNKHANNOCK &#8212; Maybe you like to sing and want to sing better. Maybe you enjoy harmony but can&#8217;t read music.</p><p>In either case, the Endless Mountains Barbershop Chorus can help you during a free clinic called &#8220;How to Be a Great Singer.&#8221;</p><p>Sessions will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturdays Oct. 31, Nov. 7 and Nov. 14 at the Dietrich Theater for 1 and 1/2 hours each day.</p><p>&#8220;Whether you sing in your church choir, with a group, do karaoke or just sing in the shower, you will benefit,&#8221; organizers promised in a press release.</p><p>Guiding singers through the sessions will be The Endless Mountains Barbershop Chorus and their quartet called Vocal Accord.</p><p>The quartet consists of tenor Raleigh Bloch, who earned two bronze medals at international competition in 2004 and 2005; lead singer Don Overdorff, who has been singing lead in quartets for more than 30 yeras and &#8220;hopes to get it right someday,&#8221; baritone Lou Volpetti, who sings with several groups, and bass Dane Bower, who is Vocal Accord&#8217;s novice member, with three years of experience.</p><p>Vocal Accord has performed for Rail Riders baseball games three times and at the Keystone College Music Festival, the Hillside Harvest Moon Festival and at many schools and assisted living centers.</p><p>To register, call Raleigh Bloch at 570-836-8595.</p><style>
