Our Opinion: Legalize boot drives for volunteer fire departments, but don’t stop there

I, too, was one of those protesting &#8220;innocent until proven guilty,&#8221; but it seems Attorney General Kathleen Kane has issues with competence in her elected position.I feel, however, that if she has done nothing else, she&#8217;s raised awareness of what, to me, is a serious problem: exchanging and watching pornographic videos while at work in a government office.A government employee with free time can read and do research. He can take an online college course, or look at the bills pending in Congress, do some networking to find out how other people do things. If he&#8217;s a police officer, like Exeter Sgt. Leonard Galli, allegedly a fan of pornographic videos at work, he can exercise, practice gun skills, read the township code and Pennsylvania laws and ordinances. Mr. Galli could get out and walk around the neighborhood instead of supporting an industry with questionable social value.I am just surprised at how ardent the pursuit of Ms. Kane&#8217;s ouster has been when no charges have been formally filed against her. Why hasn&#8217;t she been charged with a crime? Why is it a crime to use personal email to conduct state business when the emails are so easy to access? Why are a bunch of men who reportedly love to watch pornographic videos of women out to get Kane? Is it her bra size that offends them? Do they want to replace her with someone who will add to their library of sordid visual stimulation?I&#8217;ve had enough experience to know that if someone is watched closely, and with intent, in any job, fault will be found. So far, I see an attorney general who&#8217;s bad at doing sneaky things, who gets caught when she tries to play dirty politics.The arguments for her resignation still don&#8217;t convince me.
