Hanover Township man faces felony narcotic charges after allegedly attempting to sell spice

For years Luzerne County has been seen as a breeding ground for backroom deals and the powerful escaping prosecution. That tradition seems to be continuing with the Democratic nominee for mayor of Wilkes-Barre.In July, Tony George admitted that he had signed campaign finance reports that were inaccurate. Whether or not you believe there was any malicious intent or desire to hide information is separate from the fact that he committed perjury when he attested to false information on campaign documents. As an elected official and former chief of police, Mr. George should have known better.Despite this being a serious crime, the district attorney, the news media, the Democratic Party and even his opponents in the election seem to be turning a blind eye to the situation.For the sake of our community we cannot let these corrupt practices continue. I think it is time Mr. George do the honorable thing and withdraw from the race.Doug LouderbackWilkes-Barre
