High school volleyball: Big runs lead Warriors past Comets, 3-0

<p>FLEETWOOD &#8212; The road ended for three Wyoming Valley Conference golfers on Monday at the PIAA East Regional.</p><p>Coughlin&#8217;s Ryan Keyes fell just two strokes shy of being part of a playoff for the final state qualifying spot in Class 3A shooting 80 on the par 72 Golden Oaks Golf Club course.</p><p>His teammate Collin Krokos, and Dallas&#8217; Alexis Wyandt also came up short of advancing to states as Krokos carded 89 and Wyandt fired 97 in the girls Class 3A event.</p><p>The Class 3A boys and girls tournaments were harsh for all of District 2 as just one boy (Valley View&#8217;s Ronnie Yanoski) and one girl (Wallenpaupack&#8217;s Molly Mowatt) advanced to the PIAA Championships from the district. Yanoski won in a six-player playoff for three spots to advance after carding a 78. Mowatt moved to the next round by shooting 85.</p><p>In Class 2A, four boys from D2 will be represented at the state tournament to be held on Monday, Oct. 26 at Heritage Hills Golf Resort in York.</p><p>Holy Cross&#8217; Jim Tressler (75) and Tom Dwonczyk (79) are joined by Montrose&#8217;s Austin Smith (75) and Forest City&#8217;s Dylan O&#8217;Dell (80).
