<p>With a new coaching staff and plenty of new faces in the lineup, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are destined to experience a lot of &#8220;firsts&#8221; this season.</p><p>Four of them happened over the weekend.</p><p>On Saturday, rookie winger Dominik Simon scored his first pro goal in North America during the Penguins&#8217; 6-4 win over Lehigh Valley.</p><p>&#8220;For me the most fulfilling part of coaching is being a part of those moments with players,&#8221; head coach Mike Sullivan said. &#8220;Anytime you have an opportunity to go through those types of experiences with young guys, it&#8217;s fulfilling for the entire coaching staff.&#8221;</p><p>The next night in Bridgeport, fellow European players Niclas Andersen and Oskar Sundqvist added their first North American goals as well.</p><p>&#8220;We had some great chances the first four games, but I&#8217;m glad it finally came,&#8221; Sundqvist said.</p><p>Not to be outdone, rookie netminder Tristan Jarry earned his first win in his first AHL start.</p><p>So what was Jarry&#8217;s first reaction when asked to talk about the achievement?</p><p>He credited his teammates.</p><p>&#8220;The guys did a great job in front of me, clearing out rebounds and getting the pucks I couldn&#8217;t get to,&#8221; Jarry said. &#8220;They had a couple of saves for me and it was like they were playing goaltender, too.&#8221;</p><p>Credit aside, Jarry&#8217;s performance was stellar. He stopped 35 of 36 shots on the night against a Bridgeport team who beat Matt Murray three times on Oct. 10. Jarry admitted that seeing a lot of shots in the contest helped, but he was in the game long before the puck dropped.</p><p>&#8220;In the hallway before warmups, that&#8217;s when it starts for me. That&#8217;s where my focus and preparation for the game starts, not when the puck drops,&#8221; Jarry said.</p><p>He was happy to see his team earn four points on the weekend with a combined 11 goals and a power play that went 6 for 12 and a penalty kill that was 8 for 10.</p><p>Sullivan said there&#8217;s a competition within the team to get on one of the two power play units.</p><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a privilege to be on it. The guys that are on it don&#8217;t take it for granted,&#8221; Sullivan said. &#8220;We&#8217;ve got a healthy competition between the two units and they&#8217;re going to push each other.&#8221;</p><p>After this past week, the Penguins have the league&#8217;s top power play, converting on 36.8 percent of their man advantages.</p><p><strong>NOTEBOOK</strong></p><p>&#8226; The AHL suspended Kael Mouillierat for two games for an illegal check to the head of an opponent in a game vs. Lehigh Valley on Oct. 17. He&#8217;ll miss both Springfield games this weekend.</p><p>&#8226; While Sullivan said he&#8217;d love to see 11-goal offensive outbursts every weekend, his expectations are tempered a bit. &#8220;The reality is it&#8217;s probably not going to happen like that every weekend. That&#8217;s a tough pace to sustain and we understand that,&#8221; he said. &#8220;But if we play the right way we&#8217;re going to give ourselves the best chance to score and make it difficult for opponents to score against us.&#8221; The Penguins outscored their opponents 11-5 over the weekend.</p><style>
