DALLAS: The Dallas Baptist Church, Briarcrest and Memorial Highway, Harveys Lake, (next to the Idetown Fire Station), is planning some great community outreach events this fall - we are calling it &#8220;A Back Mountain Christmas.&#8221; Unless otherwise noted, all events will take place at the church.There will be a prayer walk on Wednesday, Nov. 4, in the community to meet people and identify the needs among our neighbors.A food bank drive will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 11, to benefit the Noxen Pastor&#8217;s Food Pantry. Baking and big meal items, along with any non-perishable items will be accepted. Paper and cleaning products are also very much appreciated. Items may be dropped off at the church between 6-8 p.m., or e-mail deaconsofDBC@gmail.com to arrange a pick-up.New or gently used books for children of all ages, including teens, will be collected from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, for Christmas gifts for children in our community. Rosary will be at 10 a.m. and the speaker will be Msgr. Joseph Kelly with Mass directly afterward.There will be a luncheon following the mass in the cafeteria next door.
