<p>The League of Women Voters of the Wilkes-Barre Area is inviting the public to submit questions Thursday at a public forum for the candidates for district attorney.</p><p>Luzerne County&#8217;s two candidates for the position, incumbent Republican DA Stefanie Salavantis and Democrat challenger Vito DeLuca, are scheduled to take the stage from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wyoming Seminary&#8217;s Buckingham Performing Arts Center in Kingston.</p><p>Attorney Chris McLaughlin, who will moderate the forum, said league representatives prior to the forum will accept questions to be asked if time permits.</p><p>Individual questions must be written on index cards and addressed to both candidates, she said. Pens and index cards will be made available at the event.</p><p>According to forum guidelines, McLaughlin will ask questions of the candidates who then will have one-and-a-half minutes each to answer.</p><p>The candidates will be given the same window of time to deliver opening and closing statements. The opening order will be determined in a drawing prior to the forum.</p><p>The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization which focuses on engaging voters in the political process, McLaughlin said.</p><p>She said local elections can influence people more directly than national contests, despite that fact information about local elections often can be harder to find.</p><p>The league hosts an annual legislative breakfast each January during which it encourages people to ask questions and get to know their elected officials, McLaughlin said. The group also produces a voters&#8217; guide prior to elections.</p><p>The league does not endorse candidates and representatives ask that candidates do not use its name or specific information from the forum in campaign advertisements or for campaign purposes.</p><style>
