<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; The Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA on Tuesday hosted an &#8216;Exercise for Survival&#8217; event to benefit the Y&#8217;s LIVESTRONG program.</p><p>The event included a 90-minute Spin-A-Thon on stationary spinning bikes as well as an Exer-Thon, with three 30-minute classes including Zumba, Y.F.I.T. and Cardio Kickboxing.</p><p>LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a small group program designed for adult cancer survivors.</p><p>The program fulfills the important need of supporting the increasing number of cancer survivors who find themselves in transition between completing their cancer treatment and the shift to feeling physically and emotionally strong enough to attempt to return to their normal life, or their &#8220;new normal.&#8221;</p><p>The program is conducted outside of medical facilities to emphasize that LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is about health, not disease.</p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkWUFNVVPpM" target="_blank">Watch video</a> from the event on <a href="https://www.youtube.com/user/timesleadervideo" target="_blank">the Times Leader&#8217;s YouTube channel</a>.</p><style>
