<p>WILKES-BARRE TWP. &#8212; Meyers didn&#8217;t waste any time Saturday night, blocking two punts in the first quarter and scoring four times to jump on Holy Redeemer in a 48-13 victory in a Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2A game played at King&#8217;s College.</p><p>Meyers improved to 6-3 as it heads into Friday&#8217;s regular-season finale with city rival GAR (6-3). The winner will likely make the postseason in either the District 2 Class 2A or Eastern Conference Class 2A playoffs.</p><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a rivalry game. Same record, fighting for a playoff spot,&#8221; Meyers coach Jeff Labatch said. &#8220;The winner is in somewhere I&#8217;m pretty sure.&#8221;</p><p>Redeemer fell to 1-8. It was a tough week of practice for the Royals after the death of a classmate earlier in the week.</p><p>&#8220;It was a combination of things,&#8221; Redeemer coach Scott Dennis said. &#8220;It&#8217;s been a tough week for our boys. Emotionally, it was tough for them. I think they found themselves several times in this game on a high and then a low. Then a high and then a low. It&#8217;s just been a challenging week for the Redeemer family.&#8221;</p><p>Meyers got its first touchdown on a 2-yard run by running back Jason Marston after blocking a Redeemer punt. Then on Redeemer&#8217;s next possession, Meyers&#8217; Raheem Twyman intercepted a pass and returned it 24 yards for a touchdown.</p><p>The Mohawks followed with another blocked punt. Running back Mark Robinson carried the ball on three straight plays, finishing off the short drive with an 8-yard touchdown run.</p><p>For Robinson, one of the fastest players in the WVC, it was his first action since Week 3 when he injured his elbow late in the second quarter against Riverside.</p><p>&#8220;He&#8217;s healthy now,&#8221; Labatch said. &#8220;He got cleared on Tuesday. He practiced all week, got in shape. We didn&#8217;t want to use him too much if we didn&#8217;t need to. If we needed to, we would have put him in both ways.
