The following are recent Luzerne County restaurant inspection reports from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. According the the agency: &#8220;any inspection is a &#8216;snapshot&#8217; of the day and time of the inspection. An inspection conducted on any given day may not be representative of the overall, long-term cleanliness of an establishment. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Ice scoops not stored on sanitized surface when not in use. Wire shelving in Arctic Air single-door cooler has deteriorated surface coating/rusted spots. No thermometers visible in all in-use refrigeration units.T.C. Riley&#8217;s, 405 Carverton Road, Wyoming, Oct. 15. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Beverage gun holsters, food contact surfaces, were observed to have either pink slime or tan residue on the inside surface, and were not clean to sight and touch. All of the holsters were cleaned and sanitized during this inspection. Observed a build-up of grime and dust on the fan guards inside of the three-door Coors refrigeration unit in the take-out area and the two-door Coors refrigerator in the bar area. The employee restroom does not have a covered waste receptacle for sanitary napkins. Observed that end caps were missing on protective light shields on the florescent lights in the prep area of the kitchen. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Floor seam sealant in several in-use microwaves is deteriorated/missing sections of sealant. Surface coating on wire shelving in several refrigeration units is deteriorated/chipping/rusting or missing coating surfaces. Cover on floor drain under drain board for dishwasher is bent/not sealing drain as intended. Floor tiles around floor drain in dishwasher area are missing.R Bar and Grill, 119 E. An employee&#8217;s open beverage container was observed in food preparation areas. Person in charge removed beverages during inspection. Observed cases of food stored directly on the floor in walk-in freezer, rather than 6 inches off of the floor as required. PIC moved food off floor. Observed a build-up of black residue in corners of deflector plate in the ice machine. PIC cleaned during inspection. Observed a build-up of old syrup residue on surfaces behind beverage dispensing nozzles on soda machine in wait staff area. PIC cleaned area. Observed a build-up of dust on the fan guard in the walk-in cooler. It was stated employee was educated to remove the dispenser from service when cleaning it in the future.The food facility does not have the original certificate for the certified food employee posted in public view.Crossroads Inn, 501 Main Road., Mountain Top, Oct 19. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: One chemical spray bottle in pantry is not labeled for content. Food containers are stored on floor in walk-in cooler. Violations: Grated cheese was held at 46&#176;F, in the Victory refrigeration unit, rather than 41&#176;F or below as required. Person in charge discarded cheese during inspection. Victory refrigeration unit observed with an ambient temperature of 49&#176;F. Food temperatures were checked and all food was removed from unit. Unit will not be used for TCS foods until it is serviced and can maintain a temperature of 41&#176;F or less. Observed mechanical ware-washing equipment with a lime scale build-up. Interior of ice machine, a food contact surface, was observed to have black mold-like residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Person in charge turned off machine and will have it serviced.
