American soldiers in Syria will create an insupportable situation.Our war on ISIS clashes with our Turkish and Gulf associates who have been arming and funding the jihadists so as to get rid of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. As Ankara regularly bombs the Kurds, our men risk becoming causalities.On the other hand, if Congress pushes us into joining in removing Assad, then we risk a military confrontation with Russia.The policy of regime change and military interventionism has resulted in needless loss of life, trillions in expenditures, destruction of nation-states, destabilization of the region and an explosive refugee crisis.
